Quaking Bog

I thought this was a cheerful shot.  I don’t know why but this says spring to me and with the snow melting and rain coming down it’s time to think about spring!  It’s a mushroom growing in sphagnum peat bog in the heart of Minneapolis.  The spot is called the Quaking Bog.  It’s part of Theodore Wirth Park.  It’s a pretty cool spot, home to a few carnivorous plants and a whole lot of moss.  It feels like you’re in the middle of no where because it’s surrounded by trees and not often visited.
